The ELCA, in its statement of purposes declares: “This church shall serve in response to God’s love to meet human needs, caring for the sick and the aged…” From its earliest beginnings as a church related organization,
Bethesda
has maintained a chaplaincy program.
The chaplaincy program seeks to assist persons from all faith expressions in meeting their spiritual needs by connecting them with resources from their own traditions.
Bethesda’s’ chaplaincy program conducts a weekly Wednesday afternoon worship service and coordinates a Sunday afternoon worship service. Bible studies are provided on a weekly basis. In addition chaplaincy services include visits with resident and families during times of crisis, illness, death and dying, or special needs and regular hospital visits to residents.
